Beginner instruction for kidsPosted on March 13, 2012 by admin Posted in Old Coach’s Corner
New and beginning shotgunners are greatly helped by choosing an experienced shotgun instructor to help them. Trap shooting , skeet shooting, sporting clays, and bird hunting can all be made easier by practicing on clay targets with the help of a certified shooting instructor.
Getting young shooters started correctly is important not only because we want them to have fun and be successful – but they must be kept safe while learning how to handle a firearm. Safety is an important component in quality firearms training.
Several training programs are available to Colorado youngsters interested in shooting clay targets. The Colorado Division of Wildlife, Colorado Clays, 4-H clubs, and Pheasants Forever all sponsor programs for kids. Bass Pro holds a yearly event at Colorado Clays called the Annual Generation Shoot. The National Skeet Shooting Association holds several Youth Skeet Camps each summer. And there are more.
The Certified Instructors of the Colorado Field and Clay Shooting School participate as professional volunteers in all of these worthwhile events to help kids get a correct start in shooting sportsmanship.
