Shooting glassesPosted on March 13, 2012 by admin Posted in Old Coach’s Corner
All shooting ranges require eye (and ear) protection and common sense dictates it.
While practically any form of eye protection will meet the requirements of the shooting range some are more practical and offer more protection than others. Eye protection that will double as tinted shooting glasses will likely offer the occasional shooter an advantage over ordinary sunglasses ( which are often very dark ). These are inexpensive.
Regular ( and probably more costly ) shooting glasses are the way to go. These have lightly tinted single- vision lenses and they sit rather high on the face allowing the eye to look through the center of the lens, thus providing unrestricted and distortion-free vision. Safety lenses – either prescription or non-prescription are widely available.
Something to keep in mind – you can’t hit what you can’t see.
More importantly – your eyes are irreplaceable. Good eye protection is invaluable .
